Faces of Faith

Roy presents an ever growing number of unique and original portrayals of Biblical people in modern images along with portrayals of fictional and historical characters.  Sometimes they leave you laughing, sometimes in tears.  They have brought the Bible to life for people of all ages and allowed many to identify with faith in Christ.

Peter, the Original Rock

Peter, the Original Rock

Portrayed as a tough longshoreman with an east coast Italian accent, Peter combines humor and strong emotion in a 1-2 punch that will make you want to laugh and cry. Peter shows us what it can mean to "give it up to Jesus"! Great for all ages.

Available on video filmed at lake side.

The Thief on the Cross

The Thief on the Cross

A serious modern portrayal that takes us through the crucifixion from this thief's point of view. It asks what did the thief see in Jesus to say, "Remember me"? Gripping and powerful - intense. Excellent for the whole congregation.

Available on video filmed in a retired prison building.

Joseph and His Sarape of Many Colors

Joseph and His Sarape of Many Colors

This portrayal puts Joseph in the old west and exchanges his coat for a sarape of many colors. Joseph is a fun way to take that difficult step of forgiving people who seem unforgivable. Great for all ages.

@ 40 min

Available on video complete with a horse!

Samson, the Champ

Sampson, the Champ

Samson is a strong man and a fighter - the Champ.  Foolish choices set up the Champ to take a hard fall.  But God shows us that even losers can make a come back to win as Samson wins one final victory.  Samson is a loud and exciting figure for all ages.

Moses on Spiritual Safari

Moses on Spiritual Safari

Moses, our British safari guide will lead us in the adventure of following God in faith and obedience.  Filled with plenty of laughs as the congregation gets involved in the program, this journey will hold valuable lessons for all ages.

Judas Iscariot

Judas Iscariot

Why? Why would someone who walked with Jesus betray him? We might also ask how that same person could have stolen from him. Judas was the financial manager for Jesus and the Disciples. In this serious portrayal Judas is presented in the modern image of a financier as we seek to discover the answers to these questions and to ask ourselves if there is any Judas in me. Excellent for the whole congregation.

John, the Brother of James

John, the Brother of James

The Apostle John was one of the "Sons of Thunder". Yet, he more than any other speaks of God's love for us. A love that can save us and enable us to love one another. This Irish son of thunder lets us take a touching look into the heart of the disciple so loved by Jesus. Wonderful for the whole congregation.

Doubting Thomas

Doubting Thomas

Was Thomas a skeptic?  Stubborn?  Disloyal?   Or should we see a person whose greatest Hope died before his very eyes?  This is a touching story of Hope - lost and Hope - reborn.

Jonah

Jonah

Jonah appears in Hawaiin vacation wear, one flip flop short of a good disposition. He is distressed not just by 3 days in the belly of a fish. He's mad because the people of Nineveh were forgiven rather than destroyed. This is a funny portrayal that challenges us to care for others and to believe that God can make a difference in their lives. Great for all ages.

@ 18-20 min

The Apostle Paul

The Apostle Paul

An ancient description of Paul gives an image that is dumpy and unimpressive. So, as a frumpy Jewish professor, Paul is the kind of speaker to make you yawn or laugh at first sight, but is a man whose burning passion for Christ will ignite your interest. Great for all ages.

Jesus

Jesus

What if Jesus would suddenly appear and speak to you - touch you!  What would he say?  How would you feel?  This portrayal of our risen Savior gives us the chance to experience his appearing and hear the words of scripture - the words of Jesus - spoken by him.  A wonderful experience for the entire congregation.

This portrayal is not available for all situations and can vary in length.

Circuit Riding Preacher

Circuit Riding Preacher

Bedecked in authentic colonial costume, Roy (and sometimes Janice too!) leads hymn singing and preaches the great Biblical themes of grace and holiness foundational to the Methodist church. This is not an act - this is serious preaching, bringing to life messages from the past, proving their value for today! Just right for living history events, revivals, and celebrations of church history.

A "Hell's Angel" on Angels

A "Hell's Angel" on Angels

This is a fictional character portraying a converted biker describing the transformation Jesus brought to his life. And taking opportunity to comment on angels he debunks some common misconceptions. Image grabs the attention of the congregation!

They Saw Jesus - A Closer Look into Christmas

Joseph, a Shepherd, a Wiseman, old Simeon, blind Bartimaeus, and a Roman Centurion - each one saw Jesus, each one gives us a glimpse at Jesus.  Six brief portrayals filled with humor and emotion are intertwined with musical performances to help us to see Jesus.  Perfect for Advent.
